Writing a prompt that produces a cuttable shape

What to say, what to leave out, and why "flat" and "bold" matter more than adjectives.

Name one subject

One subject per generation. "A fox" produces a cuttable silhouette. "A fox in an autumn forest at sunset" produces a scene with hundreds of tiny parts.

Say the style in cut terms

Use words a cutter understands: line art, solid silhouette, thick outline, flat colours, badge, circular. Avoid "realistic", "detailed", "textured" — those push the engine toward gradients.

State the colour count

If you want one colour, say "single colour". If you want four, name them. Unstated colour counts are the most common reason a preview comes back with too many layers.

Upload only what you own

A reference image is fine if it is yours or licensed for this use. Uploading someone else’s artwork and asking for a variation is the fastest way to get a refusal.

Iterate on the preview, not the payment

Previews are free. Regenerate until the shape is right; only download when the preview shows closed paths and a workable stroke width.
